Cavallo's well-known hoof boots, also called barefoot shoes, are a pair of innovative, removable horse shoes that provide effective protection for unshod hooves against hard and abrasive surfaces as well as ice and slippery conditions when needed. In other words, Cavallo Hoof Boots have similar properties to a traditional iron shoe, but with the advantage that they can be put on and taken off at any time. They are ideal when your unshod horse needs to travel on hard ground or has particularly sensitive soles. The hoof boots are also suitable for use in cases of laminitis or other hoof issues, or as a temporary solution when your horse loses a shoe.
 
This particular model, Trek Hoof Boots, is Cavallo's most durable, flexible, and well-ventilated variant. The upper is made of high-tech Pro Mesh with a honeycomb structure, which maximizes the boot's durability while maintaining its light weight and high comfort. The sole is made of molded TPU, and the Slim Sole is designed to fit an oval-shaped hoof. If your horse has a slightly wider, rounder hoof, there is also the Trek Regular Sole.
 
The barefoot shoes are easily slipped on over the hoof and secured with convenient, replaceable Velcro straps. The hoof boots should have a snug and close fit that follows the horse's hoof. Sold in pairs.
