How and when you’re paid
When
You’re paid for a sold item after the buyer’s two-week return window has closed, in our next consignor payout cycle, which is typically at the end of the month following the month of sale. For example, an item that sells in April is typically paid at the end of May.
How
You’re paid at the rates in the Payout Tiers, by the method you chose in your Consignment Agreement: Site Credit (paid at the higher Site Credit rate), Zelle (our preferred cash method), Venmo or check. If you didn’t choose a method, you’re paid by check.
Site Credit
Site Credit payouts are 5 percentage points higher than payouts by Zelle, Venmo or check. Site Credit can be used on tackandtweed.com and at Tack and Tweed events. It has no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash except where the law requires. It does not expire and carries no fees.
Payout Tiers
| Selling price | Zelle, Venmo or check | Site Credit |
|---|---|---|
| Under $100* | 50% | 55% |
| $100–$299 | 55% | 60% |
| $300–$499 | 60% | 65% |
| $500–$999 | 65% | 70% |
| $1,000–$4,999 | 70% | 75% |
| $5,000+ | 75% | 80% |
*We accept only items with an expected selling price of at least $40. If an accepted item sells for less than $100 after discounts, including less than $40, the “Under $100” rate applies.
Payout questions
What can be deducted from a payout?
- Cleaning or repair costs, for example boot cleaning, boot repairs, dry cleaning, laundering or sewing repairs. We get your approval by email before spending more than $25 on any one item.
What if a buyer returns an item after I’ve been paid?
If a buyer returns an item or disputes a charge after you’ve been paid for it, we may deduct that payout from your future payouts.
What does “Selling Price” mean?
The price the buyer pays for an item after any discounts, not including sales tax or shipping charged to the buyer.
What if a payout is returned or a check isn’t cashed?
If a payout is returned or a check is not cashed within 180 days, we’ll try to contact you and will then handle the funds as required by New York’s unclaimed property law.
